WORK IN PROGRESS / OFFLINE

What happens to a concert after the live webcast?
After a live webcast, a concert is not immediately added to our archive. First, we have to edit and encode the show for optimum viewing experience and sometimes get final approval from the record label, management or artist. Only then, we can add it to our archive.

What does it mean if a concert is ‘waiting for clearance’?
This means we are waiting for the record label, management or artist to approve and release a recording. Usually, this does not take longer than a week. Unfortunately there are exceptions in which clearance takes more time.

To keep updated of the latest additions to our archive, you can subscribe to our “recently added” RSS feed:

What does it mean if a concert is ‘waiting for encoding’?
All recordings have to be encoded to a certain size and format before they can be added to our archive. If a concert is labelled ‘waiting for encoding’, this means that we are still in the process of encoding the concert. This usually takes no longer than a few days.

When a concert is labelled ‘waiting for encoding’, it’s already been cleared.

To keep updated of the latest additions to our archive, you can subscribe to our “recently added” RSS feed:

What does it mean if a concert is labelled as ‘rights expired’ in the OFFLINE section?

Sometimes we receive the rights to show a concert in the Fabchannel archive only for a limited period of time. After the rights of some concerts have expired, we must remove them from our archive. These concerts are labelled with ‘rights expired’ and displayed in the OFFLINE section, They will not be put back online.

I saw a live webcast of a concert, but it never appeared in the archive?
Most of the time, the recording of a concert has to be cleared by label, band or management. Sometimes it happens that they aren’t happy with the footage. This could be because of a technical problem, a bad show or any other reason. In that case a concert will not appear in our on demand archive.

RECORDINGS

Why doesn’t Fabchannel webcast all concerts at Paradiso and Melkweg?
Our goal is to show you as many concerts as possible. Unfortunately we do not have the resources and do not get the rights to record every concert at Paradiso and Melkweg. With the help of the programmers of both venues we strive to bring you a great variety of live music.

Can I send you a video of my band to add to the Fabchannel archive?
We do not put any videos into our archive that we didn’t record ourselves.

Can Fabchannel record a concert of my band?
We only record shows at Paradiso or Melkweg. If you would like your band to be recorded by Fabchannel, you have to be booked by one of these venues. If you or your band is playing at Paradiso, you can always contact us on info@fabchannel.com to request further details.

PLAYLISTS

What is a playlist?
A playlist is a selection of your personal favourite tracks from the entire Fabchannel archive, placed in your favourite order. You can create four different playlists.

How to create a custom playlist?
Go to PLAYLIST and sign up or log in. When you first log in you’ll already find a playlist in your account that is called ‘playlist’. You can change this name by going to EDIT.
New playlists are simply created by clicking on NEW PLAYLIST. You can create a maximum of four playlists.

I can’t log in because my account isn’t activated?
When signing up you receive an e-mail to activate your account. If you did not receive it, check your junk mail bin. If you did not receive an e-mail, mail to support@fabchannel.com

How to add songs to your playlist?
On the right of every concert video in the archive you find a track list. Beside every track title, there is a ‘+’ icon. By clicking on the ‘+’ the song is added to your playlist. The tracks are added to the playlist you’ve last opened. By dragging the songs you can change the order and move them between playlists.
