Het Parool is an Amsterdam-based daily newspaper. It was founded as a resistance paper during World War II (the name means “The Password” or “The Motto”). Its main shareholders are Stichting Het Parool and the Belgium based Vlaamse Persgroep, owned by Christian van Thillo. The rest of the shares are owned by its own personnel.
The newspaper changed from broadsheet to tabloid on March 31, 2004. Its daily circulation is about 89.000 copies. |
