Lightspeed Champion is the name of Devonte Hynes' new project. The ex-member of Test Icicles was born in Texas but raised in Edinburgh, UK.
Lightspeed Champion was the name of a character Devonte used to draw in his math books when he was in high school. The name might make you think of futuristic and experimental music, but on the contrary Lightspeed Champion combines indie with folk and pop, focusing on pretty melodies.
The debut album 'Falling Off the Lavender Bridge' was released in 2007. Shortly after, Lightspeed Champion was featured on the cover of NME magazine.
