Los Campesinos! (Spanish for 'the peasants') is a cheerful indie pop formation from Cardiff/Wales, not from Spain. The group came together in 2006. Initially the band had three members, but they soon grew out into seven Campesinos.
The seven make highly danceable music with hilarious lyrics and may remind you of Pavement, Belle & Sebastian and Architecture in Helsinki.
Los Campesinos! played their first gig on May 8th 2006. November that same year they were signed to Witchita Recordings (Bloc Party a.o.). By the end of February this year, their debut album 'Hold On Now, YoungsterÂ…' is expected.
